James Stavridis is the 12th leader of The Fletcher School since its founding in 1933. A retired Admiral in the U.S. Navy, he led the NATO Alliance in global operations from 2009 to 2013 as Supreme Allied Commander. He also served as Commander of U.S. Southern Command, with responsibility for all military operations in Latin America from 2006-2009. A Fletcher PhD, he won the Gullion prize as outstanding student and has published five books and over a hundred articles.

Nancy Lindborg is the USAID Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA) and leads the efforts of more than 500 team members in nine offices focused on crisis prevention, response, recovery and transition. Since being sworn into office in October 2010, Ms. Lindborg has led DCHA responses as the Syria Task Force Chair, during the Sahel 2012 and Horn of Africa 2011 droughts, the Arab Spring, and numerous other global crises.
