Virtual Docuseries Development Lab with The Royal Film Commission, Jordan 2021

For the first time, the Royal Film Commission of Jordan, in cooperation with AAM, is holding a “Docuseries Development Lab”, which aims to introduce established filmmakers to the art of the documentary series.

The popularity of the docuseries has increased exponentially with many platforms, including VOD, choosing to focus on this format with great success and public interest. The RFC wants to support filmmakers in Jordan for this particular market. This one-of-a-kind program is designed to support projects that are best told in the docuseries format.

Over six weeks from April through May 2021, two world-renowned and award-winning documentarians Caryn Capotosto and Kishori Rajan will work as creative advisors with six participants/ teams. The advisors will support in developing the treatment for the docuseries projects. The sessions will be held once a week virtually, and will consist of group meetings and one-on-one mentorship. The lab will give the participants the tools needed to develop and present their docuseries projects to potential producers, and gain a better understanding of the next steps forward.
