America's Growing Debt
America Abroad presents a one-hour special “America’s Growing Debt: The Stakes for the U.S. and the World” with former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of the Treasury Robert Rubin, and the Co-Chairs of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform Erskine Bowles and Alan Simpson.
This special, anchored by Ray Suarez, features highlights from this unprecedented summit in Washington D.C. The event, "Fiscal Summit 2010: America's Crisis and A Way Forward," launches a national bipartisan dialogue on America's fiscal challenges. This summit is being presented by the Peter G. Peterson Foundation.
Governments around the world are increasingly worried about the size and sustainability of America’s debt. They understand that the health of America’s economy is essential to the health of the global economy and to global prosperity. Because of America’s importance in a globalized, interconnected world, what happens to the U.S. economy affects the lives of billions of people, and will also affect American foreign policy.
