Ilana Weinberg is the Director of Programming at AAM. She currently oversees AAM's Screen Buzz initiative, an innovative series of creative workshops bringing top Hollywood writers, directors and producers to the Arab World to support local storytellers in the creation of original, purpose driven content for global audiences. Since joining AAM in 2006, Ilana has managed unique programming in Afghanistan, Tunisia, Pakistan and Turkey, and produced dozens of talk shows, documentaries and public affairs programs for hosts and journalists across the Middle East and South Asia through AAM's Journalism Fellowship Program. Previously, Ilana worked as the assistant to veteran journalist Marvin Kalb in the DC office of Harvard’s Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics, and Public Policy. She also interned for ABC News with producers at both Nightline and Primetime, and was an intern on Capitol Hill in the Press Office of Senator Edward M. Kennedy. Ilana graduated with honors with a B.A. in journalism from the George Washington University’s School of Media and Public Affairs.
