Kareem Hamadi
Kareem Hamadi has been a leading anchor and news director for Al-Iraqiya since 2003. He currently hosts the weekly primetime program, "The Fourth Estate," where he interviews prominent policy makers and influential figures on issues ranging from democratic reform, elections, security, economic development, and freedom of the press in Iraq.
Kareem's spent his second trip in May 2010 as an AAM Fellow traveling in the US with the AAM television team to produce programs on policy, culture, and energy. His trip included:
From Washington: Kareem produced a number of programs looking at US policy in Iraq, including an exclusive, in-depth interview with General Richard Myers, former Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2001-2005. This program aired during the 7th anniversary of the fall of Saddam Hussein, and was General Myers' first ever appearance on Iraqi Television.
From Michigan: Kareem produced two programs on Arab American communities in Dearborn, home to one of the largest Arab American populations in America, where he interviewed local Iraqi American business owners and Arab American community members who have watched the neighborhood change over the past four decades. Kareem also produced a show on the Arab American Museum in Dearborn, and interviewed Imam Sayid Hassan Al-Qazwini, the Iraqi Imam of the largest mosque in America.
From Texas: Kareem produced four programs on energy in Austin and Houston, with topics including rebuilding the electric grid in Iraq, alternative energy sources, energy security, the role of oil in the US-Iraqi relationship, and international business opportunities and cooperation between the US and Iraq.
Previously, Kareem spent two weeks with AAM after the 2010 US presidential inauguration and produced a series of programs on important issues concerning America's relationship with Iraq and the Arab world.

Iraqi-American Community. A discussion with prominent members of the local Iraqi-American community on civic participation, democracy in America, and perceptions and misperceptions of Iraqis and Iraqi Americans.
