Examining Turkey – Multimedia Resources
Submitted by admin on Mon, 10/31/2011 - 18:58
Modern Turkey sits at the geographic and cultural crossroads of Europe and the Middle East. The product of a dramatic break from its Ottoman past in 1923, today the country enjoys a thriving modern economy and holds the distinction of being the Middle East’s most successful Muslim-majority democracy. In the last decade, new developments have raised questions about Turkey’s future, as the historically secular republic for the first time elected to power a party rooted in the country’s Islamist movement.
