Yusuf Misdaq
Yusuf Misdaq completed his MA in Documentary Filmmaking from the University of London in 2007, and before that, a BA in Media Studies from Sussex University. Before moving to the US, he worked as a freelance journalist and artist in Brighton, England, interviewing pioneering ‘’underground’’ artists and writing reviews of avant-garde, experimental music & film.
As a documentary filmmaker, Yusuf worked under producer Clare Lewis (42 Up, Black Gold) and has independently filmed, edited and produced four documentaries (all self-funded) one of which was a special selection at the 2005 Brighton Film Festival. Yusuf's first novel, 'Pieces of a paki' was also published in 2007, a dytopian/utopian vision of English politics and culture.
