Margaret Tutwiler
Ambassador Margaret Tutwiler is Senior Vice President and Head of Global Communications and Public Affairs at Merrill Lynch. She was previously head of Global Communications and Government Relations for NYSE Euronext and NYSE Group, Inc. From 2003 to 2004, Tutwiler served as Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs at the US State Department. She was US Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco from 2001 to 2003. During the administration of President George H.W. Bush, Tutwiler was State Department Spokesman and Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs, as well as Assistant to the President for Communications. She also served in the Reagan administration, as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Public Affairs and as Deputy Assistant to the President for Political Affairs and Special Assistant to the President in the White House Office of the Chief of Staff. She has received several awards for public service and is the youngest person inducted to the Alabama Hall of Honor. Tutwiler is a graduate of the University of Alabama.
