Felix Rohatyn

Felix Rohatyn is currently the President and Chairman of Rohatyn Associates, LLC. He previously served as the U.S. Ambassador to France under the Clinton Administration from 1997-2000. Prior to his appointment, he was Managing Director of the investment bank Lazard Freres and Company in New York, which he joined in 1948, becoming partner in 1961. From 1975 to 1993, Ambassador Rohatyn was Chairman of the Municipal Assistance Corporation (MAC) of the City of New York, where he managed negotiations that enabled New York City to pull itself out of its financial crisis in the late 1970s. Ambassador Rohatyn served as a member of the board of governors of the New York Stock Exchange from 1968 to 1972. He is also a Commander in the French Legion of Honor. Ambassador Rohatyn is best known for his role in helping New York City emerge from bankruptcy in the 1970s under a program of large budget reductions.
