Felix Rohatyn
Ambassador Felix Rohatyn is currently the President and Chairman of Rohatyn Associates, LLC. He previously served as the US Ambassador to France under the Clinton administration from 1997-2000. Prior to his appointment, he was the Managing Director of the investment bank, Lazard Freres and Company, in New York. Rohatyn joined Lazard Freres and Co. in 1948 and became a partner in 1961. From 1975 to 1993 Rohatyn was Chairman of the Municipal Assistance Corporation (MAC) of the City of New York. In this capacity, he managed negotiations that enabled New York City to pull itself out of its financial crisis in the late 1970s. Rohatyn served as a member of the board of governors of the New York Stock Exchange from 1968 to 1972. In addition to career in diplomacy and finance, Rohatyn is also a Commander in the French Legion of Honor. He graduated from Middlebury College in 1948.
