(Washington DC – October 11, 2012) AAM recently partnered with Kurdsat TV host Lawen Azad to co-produce a documentary exploring American policy towards Kurdistan. The program, which broadcast in primetime on Kurdsat and is available online, chronicles the history of US-Kurdish relations over the past 40 years, and includes interviews with:
• John Hannah, Senior Fellow at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies Ambassador
• David Mack, former Deputy Asst. Secretary of State for Near East Affairs
• Sarhang Hamasaeed, Senior Program Specialist for the Iraq and North Africa Programs, U.S. Institute of Peace

Lawen Azad is the host of Inside Kurdistan Extra, a primetime English-language interview program that airs bi-weekly on Kurdsat TV and satellite stations around the world. She recently visited the US as part of AAM's Journalism Fellowship Program, which brings prominent journalists from the Muslim world to the US to report and produce programming.
